The story so far.
Denise van Dooren makes balloon art for a living, which sounds like a joke until you see the work. She trained as a Master Balloon Professional, is a Sempertex brand ambassador, and won Blow Up on RTL 4, credentials that still surprise people who assume this is a hobby with an Instagram account.
Behind the finished installations is a smaller, less glamorous operation: sourcing colour by hand, testing shapes that don't hold air the way you'd hope, and packing a car at strange hours. She works from Den Bosch on projects that range from a child's birthday to international stages, and teaches other balloon professionals the parts that never make the highlight reel.
